Alvaro R. Zepeda



As a managing partner to the firm, he is involved with projects from the very first line in a sketch, until the final construction of a project.

He was born and raised in El Salvador Central America. He migrated to the United States arriving and settling in Hollywood California in 1979.

He received his Masters in Architecture from California State Polytechnic University at Pomona in 2004 after receiving his Bachelor in Architecture from Woodbury University in 1994. Since 2008 he is an Adjunct Faculty at Woodbury University School of Architecture.

Prior to founding Honles + Zepeda Architects, Alvaro worked projects varying from small residential to large mix-use projects, as well as, institutional and commercial developments. Since 1998 he has also worked along Randell L. Makinson a national leading expert on architectural restoration and the Arts and Crafts movement in the United States. Under his guidance and mentorship Alvaro has helped in the restoration of homes designed and built by California architects Greene and Greene and other historic homes throughout Los Angeles.

Mr. Zepeda has an extensive experience in architectural restoration and sustainable architecture. He is a Professional Member of Build It Green Council and a continued Associate Member of the American Institute of Architecture. He is currently a Flotilla Commander and Flotilla Operations Officer with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
